ABOUT US   Today's Submissions

Hello, and let us welcome you to the Creative Writers Network. Over the past few years Shannon and I have been members of a myriad of sites whose sole purpose is to provide writers with an outlet for their works. However, in the last year or so we have seen an increase in the amount of time and space associated with these sites dedicated to advertising. Some of these sites pander to the writer willing to pay monies to enhance their standing on the site. This is where the idea of the Creative Writers Network, began to get tossed around.

While having a nice conversation over dinner we discovered each of us held contempt for the amount of advertising, the confusion in the navigability and the lack of a place where a writer could actually work on their craft and receive both peer and editorial review and so the Creative Writers Network was born.

Our aim is to provide a venue that has both teeth and integrity. It is of the utmost importance to us that when a writer posts, his/her work is available for others of the same ilk to enjoy and there be a forum where feedback can be given in a productive and non-harassing manner. While at the same time these reviews would be honest and helpful.

Another necessary convention of the site lies in the navigability. It is laughable, at times, how some webmasters can expect visitors to navigate their sites amid the ads and the gratuitous bells and whistles. While these things are pretty and often times catchy and fun, however, we feel they detract from the purpose of the site. Other detractors that annoy us are the way some sites reward their authors. We also thought other sites lacked the ability to provide authors genuine feedback.

Therefore we set out to make Creative Writers Network with the goal to provide authors with a venue to post their works for the betterment of the art without regard to flagrant commercialism. In a time when celebration of the written word has given way to the trappings of feigned voyeurism, our aim is to be a community where writers enjoy integrity as the standard.

Meet – Meet other authors and like-minded peoples.
Post – Post your creative works and share your voice with the world.
Communicate – Share ideas, feedback, and other thoughts on the craft with other authors.
Collaborate – Work with other authors for the power, enrichment, and beauty of the written word.

The strength of the Creative Writers Network lies in its membership and their willingness to Meet, Post, Communicate, and Collaborate.

As an added benefit to our members we have added a feature in which members can request feedback specifically from our editor on staff. With the Creative Writers Network, you can count on getting genuine feedback on your work.
