Where
by lynndakota
I just need you to know..no matter where I go
No matter who I see, the loneliness is me
the shattered heart that dwells within,
I know I must begin..can't settle for the end
not the one you gave to me..
It's better left this way..
me in a car, driving night and day
desperately running away
or is this to be.. my end?
for now I just don't know
you say, I need to seek another way
to check into a life, that's not me
this story that you told...has left me
in a world that is cold
I travel west to the hills
that silently turn into mountains,
driving me sooo.. hard I'm blind.
deaf, dumb, lost. lonely
sun baked highways.. no voice to hear
my cries fall with no verse to share
the skies are blue, the soil so dry..
as my emotions that use to guide me
all tied up inside..no forward response
from one who said he knew me
now I'm here, where is he?
the help I said I'd need has yet to arrive
he's running on his own,
a world of dark, dense fog
a sax, a dark, smoky piano bar
voices sweet and sharp..
don't understand the whipping shrill
and the call of a lark..but I'm gonna
take it to my heart forever,
for it sings of him, and makes me realize
all is over now, for if not ME..
whatever can I be?
