Christmas to Me

The sights and sounds of Christmas,
although a joy to see,
cannot express the meaning
of Christmas day to me.
Those brightly wrapped gift boxes
stacked neatly under the tree
will never be the ultimate gift
like Jesus gave for me.
The birth of our sweet savior
those many years ago
began a promise of eternity
all believers will someday know.
a gift that's always forever,
one that never disappears,
the son of God, gave us love
that's lasted through the years.
