I thought,
someday, I’d finally hold you
feel your heart beat against mine
taste distilled desire on your lips
as you gathered me into your arms
those arms that often stretched out
beyond miles of cruel impossibilities
to enfold me in the security of love
I thought,
our bond would remain unchanged
simplicity of “ always being there”
friends and lovers who would not
forsake the treasure of such rapport
I never left but you have vanished
too busy or apathetic to communicate
with someone who is only a memory
I think
about you still, at odd times tears
form in my eyes for what once was
and still could have been, I wonder
where you are and if you are lonely
like you were when we first touched
across the void of years and miles
do you ever think of me....miss me?
