Wants and Not Needs
by tlimes
The world compels us
To toil and to strive,
For the things we perceive
That are needed to survive.
The new car and the possessions
Like the home on the hill,
Are wants and not needs
Yet we work for them still.
The comfort and the joy
We imagine in store
By acquiring these things
Leaves us looking for more.
The minutes and the days
That are lost in our haste
To purchase our happiness
Are but moments of waste.
The happiness and the joy
That we all wish to see
Can be discovered in Gods’ word
That will help set you free.
