Spin

by WhatAGoodBoy

Spin
His face was the sky, his body the earth.
His mood was the weather, the ocean wrapped his girth.
She was the moon, she lay with great grace,
above his body glowed her shining face.
And they danced the dance of the stars in the sky,
and said they would dance to the day the earth dies.
But as time hurdled past like a falcon on clear day,
from high above stooping to its quivering prey,
Then did the moon its orbit move , and earth did shrink …
away from Luna’s grasp and so her heart did sink.
And when two bodies in the solar array reach distance right
No matter how they might spin and fight, they will spin into the night,
The endless night between the sun and planets, a dark place
Where they might chance find another dance with another lunar face.
Or they might collide with Titan grim and in their death throws cry,
“Oh where his mood, her face that shines, I am not dancing. Die.”
