Blown, washed, apart -- CONTEST

by greyunicorn

Blown, washed,apart

blood red hurricanes in the French Quarter
punctuate the year Mom and Dad broke:
forever love, gone forever wrong

after crawfish etoufee in Algiers
beignets and coffee and cigarettes along the river
philosophizing with a bicycle man in the 9th ward
seeing mimes in Jackson Square
walking from the ferry to Audubon Park
I wondered what had broken

punctuated my own forever love,
forever wrong with
blood red hurricanes in the French Quarter.
